Mynolia previews her forthcoming album Salt Around My Bed with “Take the Mountain by Surprise,” a hushed folk ballad with a shadowy, psychedelic undertow. Written and recorded in a single sitting after a storm cut off the road to her home, the song turns isolation into a form of self-protection: soft vocals and bubbling synths give way to treated, distorted guitar.
The track sets the tone for an album shaped by Mynolia’s move to the remote American South, where everyday rituals became small acts of grounding and protection. Salt Around My Bed is out January 15, 2027, via Full Time Hobby; Mynolia has also announced UK and EU tour dates.
