Berlin electronic duo Modeselektor preview their forthcoming album MDSLKTR with “IWUDLYK,” a collaboration with Kabeaushé that reportedly came together almost by accident: the pair sent him a beat, and he returned vocal recordings. The track reflects the album’s pared-back approach, with Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary revisiting ideas from their early years while focusing on what remains when production is stripped to its essentials.
According to the press release, across the record, guests including Siriusmo, Miss Platnum, Tommy Cash, Lars Eidinger and Gudrun Gut join the duo’s restless mix of techno, electro, bass and experimental electronics. Following their recent excavation of old sessions, MDSLKTR looks back without retreating into nostalgia; it’s due January 22, 2027, via Monkeytown Records.
