MNJM announces EXCAVATIONS I, the label’s inaugural compilation, arriving November 13 as a 19-track digital release. Bringing together established names from its roster with a wider group of artists working across experimental electronics, ambient, techno and club music, the collection maps out a deliberately fluid sonic territory.
According to the press release, the lineup includes Milad Samara, Bint Mbareh, Jad Atoui, Yara Mekawei, Muqata‘a, Heatsick, Dauwd & DJ Saliva and others, connecting different approaches without forcing them into a single aesthetic. Framed around the idea of excavating the past while remaining in constant motion, EXCAVATIONS I treats history, technology and contemporary club culture as overlapping layers rather than fixed categories. Curated by Abdulaziz Alhomsi, Kasja Borić and Milad Samara, the compilation introduces MNJM as a platform interested in where experimental sound goes when its boundaries are left deliberately open.
