British sound artist Zane Trow returns with Ibis, a deeply textural meditation on fragility and change, out now through Room40. Built from field recordings captured across a stretch of wetlands and riverside, the album documents a landscape on the brink of erasure. Birds, bells, and distant creeks intertwine with layers of feedback, synthesis, and treated sound. Trow explores the tension between analogue and digital, real and imagined, permanence and decay. Ibis unfolds as both an elegy for vanishing ecologies and an exploration of sound’s own impermanence.
