Berlin’s open-ended collective Spydergum arrive with their self-titled debut, a 19-track collage built from six days of first-take improvisations and zero overdubs. The project brings together a constantly shifting cast of musicians and artists, with Concepción Huerta, Daniela Huerta, Ah! Kosmos and eighteen others moving through the sessions.
The music slips between ambient, jazz, neoclassical textures and fractured pop, never staying in one place long enough to settle. Formed around the idea that listening should come before individual ego, Spydergum grew out of informal gatherings at Rabih Beaini’s Morphine Raum, where the tracks were recorded in November 2024. Spydergum arrives November 6 via Unguarded, with a live premiere at Berlin’s Volksbühne on November 2.
