Naarm/Melbourne songwriter Margo Mann returns with “Shapeshifter,” a striking new single that expands her cinematic approach to chamber pop and art-rock. Produced by Burke Reid, the track pairs stately piano, soaring guitars, and richly layered vocals with lyrics that confront the quiet erosion of identity through emotional compromise.
She explains: “True intimacy lies in seeing and being seen, and in avoiding the risk of that, life becomes one long and lonely performance act. Shapeshifter charts the process of someone waking up from this conditioning, while not yet fully disentangled from it either”.
