Seabuckthorn, the long-running project of Andy Cartwright, returns with Never the Same River, a new album for Lost Tribe Sound that foregrounds rhythm within his evolving guitar-based practice. It is out on June 19th.
Built from weathered acoustic sources, bowed textures, and percussive reinforcement, the record restructures his drone-informed language into more grounded, pulse-aware compositions. Cartwright’s approach retains its focus on micro-variation and tonal erosion, with repeated figures subtly rearticulated to emphasize temporal flux and material instability.
