Polish violinist, pianist and composer YANA releases “Breaths” via OPIA Community, introducing a more tense and kinetic side of her sound. According to the press release, built around a looping piano figure, the track gradually fills out with horn-like Polysix synths, hazy strings and distorted drums recorded to tape. Its repetitive structure mirrors the physical rhythm of anxiety, moving between agitation and the attempt to regain control. The result is an atmospheric piece that stays hypnotic while constantly threatening to slip out of focus.

“Breaths refers to a moment when you feel like running away from something that chases you,” says YANA. “You catch your breath trying to clear your mind, but you can’t fully recover. The world around you seems to be shrinking. Then you breathe again”.
