Italian project Goodbye Lara introduces itself with “Trapped People Need, Free People Want,” a new single built around the uneasy space between love, dependence and the desire to escape. Led by Lara Ingrosso, the project blends alternative rock, electronic textures and cinematic atmospheres, creating a dark backdrop for lyrics that move between harsh reality and dreamlike imagery.
According to the press release, the song follows two people caught in a relationship where intimacy can look like salvation while quietly becoming another form of confinement. Water, distorted identities and the idea of drowning turn the track’s central tension into something surreal, where the urge to save someone can become inseparable from losing yourself. With a sound that nods towards art rock and experimental pop without settling into either, Goodbye Lara opens its story with a debut that feels intimate and deliberately unresolved.
