Montreal-based artist Lamasz makes his debut on Le Mont Analogue with Fioritures, a six-track study in the art of letting sound come loose at the edges. Built from fragments lifted from thrift-store classical tapes, the record bends familiar orchestral ghosts into looping figures, low drones and hazy field recordings.

Nothing really arrives or resolves: melodies blur, tape hiss creeps in, and every loop seems to forget where it started. Produced by Pier-Luc Tremblay, Fioritures moves with the slow logic of a half-remembered dream, suspended somewhere between musique concrète, ambient and damaged chamber music.
