Microhm and Imaabs join forces on Latencia, a new collaborative album built from Mexican field recordings and warped electronic textures. Digging through the Fonoteca Nacional archives, the Mexican and Chilean producers pull fragments of traditional music into a murky, futuristic sound world. Ancestral rhythms get slowed down, stretched and dissolved into bass, noise and digital haze. The album sits in the messy space where cultures collide, mutate and bleed into each other. The album grew out of a commission for Original 2025, Mexico’s gathering dedicated to contemporary textile art.
