Josienne Clarke announces Regenerene MMXXVI, a 12-track return to the traditional folk songs that have shaped her career, arriving November 20 via Corduroy Punk. Following “Katie Cruel” and “Banks of the Sweet Primroses,” Clarke shares “Green Grow the Laurels,” giving the traditional song a spare, quietly devastating arrangement built around her keening voice and electric guitar.

Performed with voice, field organ, guitar and recorders, alongside Mary Ann Kennedy on harp and Matt Robinson on piano and keyboards, the album finds new life in familiar material through restraint and finely placed details. According to the press release, the songs move through abandonment, betrayal, jealousy and romantic despair, their centuries-old stories gaining fresh weight through Clarke’s intimate performances and an understanding that human emotions rarely change.
