Swedish composer and pianist Carl Colliander unveils Absence, a three-track EP steeped in the colder, quieter shades of Scandinavian neoclassical. Built entirely around intimate solo piano, the record finds beauty in restraint, letting small shifts in melody and texture carry its emotional weight. Colliander, whose musical roots stretch back to punk, keeps the performances raw and tactile, searching for warmth inside the silence.
