Jozef Van Wissem and Jim Jarmusch return with Bocca di Lupo and Mouth of the Wolf, a double album born from their long-running collision of minimalist guitar, drone and avant-garde ritualism. Recorded in Bologna in 2025, the two records split the duo’s language in different directions, from the compact, song-like pieces of Bocca di Lupo to the two extended electric-guitar excursions of Mouth of the Wolf.
First single “Never Like You Said” brings Courtney Barnett into the mix, her voice locking with Jarmusch’s over pulsing beats and scorched guitar fuzz. The project also circles back to Only Lovers Left Alive, opening Bocca di Lupo with a new version of the track that originally defined their soundtrack collaboration. Bocca di Lupo / Mouth of the Wolf is out November 6 via Sacred Bones Records.
