London-based collective Ibibio Sound Machine return with Chopping Mountain, a new album out now via Merge Records that reconnects the band with their organic roots while expanding their futuristic blend of Afrobeat, electronic music, soul and post-punk. According to the press release, Recorded at the band’s Vanguard Studios in South London, the album captures Ibibio Sound Machine at their most collaborative and dynamic, balancing rhythmic intensity with themes of hope, connection and collective strength.
