YOAL brings together Scottish musician Euan Alexander Millar-McMeeken and Japanese artist Satomimagae in a collaboration born from years of correspondence and shared musical curiosity. Their work draws subtly on the folk traditions of their respective cultures, merging English and Japanese sensibilities through restraint and understated melody.
According to the press release, on Gloaming, distance becomes a creative force rather than a barrier, with the two artists developing a sound that feels intimate and unhurried. The album unfolds through delicate arrangements and patient pacing, allowing small details to carry its emotional weight. It is a quietly evocative meeting point between two musical worlds, shaped by trust, exchange and a shared sense of simplicity.
