French artist Mathias Villard has announced his debut album, Past Radiance, out October 2 via Affin. The Düsseldorf-based artist previews the record with “What Remains” and “Quasars,” a slow-burning ambient piece shaped by submerged drones, blurred melodies, and decaying harmonies. Across seven tracks, Villard explores the space between memory and erosion, balancing ambient, drone, and post-rock textures. The album’s visualizer was created by Markus Guentner. Past Radiance follows Villard’s years as a drummer in atmospheric projects and marks his move toward more introspective electronic composition.
