The Buoys return with “Alone In Vegas”, a softer, more vulnerable new single that imagines a sequel to the 1985 cult classic Desert Hearts. The track envisions the film’s protagonists Cay and Vivian meeting again years later in Las Vegas, before marrying and moving to New York. It offers a warm, romantic counterpoint to the Australian band’s gut-punching indie-rock sound. “Alone In Vegas” is the latest preview of Concrete Cowboy, their new album arriving October 23 via Sony Music Australia / Music For Nations. The record balances introspective songwriting with the explosive guitars that have become central to The Buoys’ live sound.
