Los Angeles duo Judy, formed by Blue Broderick of Diners and Leah Levinson of Agriculture, have released their second EP, Death of a Ladies’ Mutt. Recorded over five days in a makeshift living-room studio, the record distills their shared affection for classic pop and garage rock into something loose, melodic, and sharply written. Broderick and Levinson fold traces of the Velvet Underground, the Shangri-Las, the Ramones, and Fountains of Wayne into songs about desire and romantic frustration.
