Mike Cooper has released a new album called Stochastic Parrot, a new collection of exotic electronics and warped ambient textures. Drawing on dub, experimental jazz and the imaginary geographies that have long shaped his work, Cooper constructs a hallucinatory sound world from samples, lap steel, voice and found sounds. Guest contributions from Pierre Bastien and Mark Cunningham bring cornet and trumpet into the mix, adding an organic counterpoint to Cooper’s digital dreamscapes.
