Memorial have released Jera, their debut album for OPIA Community, the label founded by Ólafur Arnalds. According to the press release, recorded live at Arnalds’ studio in Reykjavík during a period of heavy snowfall, the album unfolds through intimate songwriting, acoustic instrumentation and subtle electronic detail, balancing fragility with a quietly expansive sense of scale. Across its eleven tracks, Memorial explore grief, uncertainty, intimacy and renewal without forcing them into easy resolutions. The record was completed at Clockwork Owl Studios in Brighton with longtime producer Tim Bidwell, resulting in their most emotionally direct and sonically assured work to date.
