Canadian composer Brad Deschamps, who records as anthéne, returns with the new album currents. According to the press release, built entirely around electric guitar, field recordings and fragments of radio, the album unfolds through seven carefully layered pieces that move between luminous melody and shadowy ambience. Minimal guitar loops, lap steel textures and distant voices gradually dissolve into an atmospheric sound world, where organic detail and quiet abstraction coexist with remarkable subtlety.
