The Black Wizards have shared “Wishing Well,” the latest preview of their upcoming fourth albumForce Majeure & The Acts of God, due September 4 via Hassle Records.
According to the press release, the Porto trio continues its shift away from the hazy stoner rock of earlier releases, embracing a leaner blend of proto-punk, garage rock and blues-driven riffs powered by restless energy. Inspired by the legal term for uncontrollable events, the album channels political unrest, social anxiety and dark humor into ten urgent tracks that refuse resignation. Written amid mounting global instability and recorded under equally chaotic circumstances after abandoned sessions in Sweden, the record ultimately took shape in an intense five-day sprint in Porto with producer Cooper Crain (CAVE, Bitchin Bajas).
