London quartet Neighbour Club have introduced themselves with debut single “Gold Leaf Girl,” a scrappy slice of slacker rock shaped by ’90s indie and Americana influences. Produced by Tom Kellett (Moreish Idols, Pearl2) at Speedy Wunderground’s Streatham studio, the track channels the “carefree spirit” of 10 Things I Hate About You through jangling guitars and pub-ready hooks.
Indeed, they explain: “We wrote ‘Gold Leaf Girl’ as a bouncy, pub shaking indie bop that sounds like it could have come straight off the 10 Things I Hate About You soundtrack.”
Formed by former colleagues from a reality TV post-production company, the band has already built early momentum with intimate performances across London’s skateparks and record stores, with more live dates and new music set to follow.
