Belgian composer, organist, and musicologist Sander De Keere joins Phantom Limb with “Pt. 6“, a hypnotic new work that transforms the centuries-old church organ into a vessel for minimalist repetition and experimental sound exploration. According to the press release, recorded on a replica of a 1763 Contius baroque organ in Ghent, the piece bridges sacred music traditions, Steve Reich-inspired patterns, and the logic of electronic synthesis. Through mechanical pulses, resonant harmonics, and evolving textures, De Keere reveals the organ as an ancient synthesizer, where historical craftsmanship meets contemporary sonic experimentation.
