Japanese composer Makoto Sawai has shared “Nagi,” the latest preview of his forthcoming EP Kaze, arriving July 17 via London’s Bigo & Twigetti. According to the press release, Inspired by the sensation of a gentle breeze, Kaze finds Sawai refining the introspective, cinematic minimalism that has become his signature. The EP also marks his first release for the label since last year’s Weaving Time, continuing a run of deeply atmospheric contemporary compositions.

“There are many kinds of wind,” says Makoto. “A gentle breeze, a pleasant wind, or a storm. This time, I created this EP with a gentle wind in mind. It’s an EP that makes you feel like you’re riding on that wind, closing your eyes, and letting yourself be carried away by it as you travel to various places.”
