Composer and multi-instrumentalist Patrick Belaga has announced Solar Calf, a new album for PAN which will be out on July 31st. Introduced by the lead single “Axis,” the project draws inspiration from the spatial logic of classic video games, translating the sense of discovery found in open-world adventures into a landscape of minimalist composition, digital manipulation, and experimental sound design.
Blurring the boundaries between acoustic instrumentation and synthetic textures, Belaga constructs environments rather than songs, inviting listeners to wander through shifting moods and interconnected sonic zones.
