Four decades after helping define the scrappy nerve center of Pacific Northwest indie rock, Young Fresh Fellows return with Loft, a previously unreleased full-length recorded at The Loft and issued as part of the band’s ongoing 40th anniversary celebrations. Tracked in a single burst with GRAMMY-winning engineer Tom Schick behind the console, the album captures the group’s enduring chemistry while sharpening their cult blend of garage-pop wit, ragged power-pop, and absurdist Americana.
The sessions gradually expanded into an unlikely all-star collaboration featuring Neko Case, Peter Buck of R.E.M., John Stirratt of Wilco, alongside members of The Decemberists, Camper Van Beethoven, Mott the Hoople, and Eleventh Dream Day.
