Tom Wheatley has released the soundtrack to AGON, the debut feature by filmmaker Giulio Bertelli, out now via PAN. Produced in association with MUBI, the film follows three female athletes competing in a fictional Olympic Games, examining the intersections of sport, performance, technology, and power.

According to the press release, Wheatley’s score mirrors the film’s stark and controlled environment, where judo bouts, fencing matches, and rifle competitions unfold on empty soundstages rather than in traditional arenas. Built from precise textures and heightened physical detail, the soundtrack amplifies the tension between athletic discipline and its increasingly mediated representation.
