Mabe Fratti and Bill Orcutt join forces on the collaborative LP Almost Waking, out now via Unheard of Hope. The project began through online exchanges, with Orcutt sending solo guitar sketches that Fratti developed with cello lines and vocal melodies. Sessions were recorded between Mexico City and San Francisco, with additional cello contributions from I. La Católica. The result documents a meeting between Orcutt’s stripped guitar language and Fratti’s voice-led compositions emerging from Mexico City’s experimental scene.
