Memorial return with “Teeth,” their first release since signing to OPIA Community, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Brighton duo of Jack Watts and Oliver Spalding. Recorded at Ólafur Arnalds’ Reykjavík studio during an Icelandic snowstorm, the track expands Memorial’s intimate folk framework into a more cinematic and orchestral space, featuring contributions from Arnalds alongside Sam Amidon.
Built around acoustic guitar, piano and fragile string arrangements, “Teeth” explores emotional instability and the uneasy arrival of happiness, balancing warmth and collapse within a slow-burning, highly restrained composition.
