Peals — the long-running collaboration between William Cashion of Future Islands and Bruce Willen of Double Dagger — will release two companion records, The Compound 76 and Le Pantoum 46, on July 31. According to the press release, Drawn from a 2016 performance captured at Baltimore arts space The Compound by engineer Craig Bowen, The Compound 76 documents the duo’s quietly immersive approach to instrumental music: looping guitars, soft percussion, analogue drift, and slowly mutating melodic patterns suspended in luminous detail.
