After years of silence following his 2020 solo debut Earth, Ed O’Brien returns with Blue Morpho, a deeply immersive second solo album shaped by isolation, depression and spiritual renewal. Written during the pandemic between London and the Welsh countryside, the record transforms personal collapse into expansive psych-folk, trip-hop and ambient textures, guided by producer Paul Epworth and collaborators including Shabaka Hutchings.
According to the press release, inspired by nature, field recordings and the meditative resonance of 432 Hz tuning, the album drifts through hypnotic guitars, spectral rhythms and orchestral arrangements performed by the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra.
