French-born, London-based composer Akusmi returns with Terra Incognita, a new full-length conceived as a cartography of imagined landscapes and rhythmic disorientation. Due July 3 on Tonal Union, It features contributions from Sarathy Korwar, Dudú Kouate, and Marysia Osu and merges spiritual jazz, minimalist repetition, and electronic propulsion into sprawling polyrhythmic compositions shaped by constant motion.

Lead single “Anima” offers the first glimpse into that world: an ecstatic, trance-inducing groove driven by layered percussion, spiralling saxophone lines, and Afrobeat-inflected momentum, alongside electronics from longtime collaborator Daniel Brandt.
