Mikael Lind presents Norðaustur, an album developed from an audiovisual installation created with visual artist Sigga Björg, originally staged as Hringmyrkvun / Circular Blackout in Raufarhöfn, Iceland. The project translated projected moving images inside a large fish oil tank into reactive sound generation, where synthesizers and effects responded in real time to visual motion. For the album version, these performance-derived materials are reworked into structured compositions that oscillate between ambient minimalism, textural noise, rhythmic drone forms, and fragmented modernist electronics.
