Lesley Mok announces their debut solo album Transient, out July 17 via American Dreams, and shares lead single “berserk.” Over the last few years, Mok has become one of New York City’s most in-demand percussionists, yet their solo debut distills several years of exploring sound-making beyond the physical drum kit.
“This track feels like an ode to some of my favorite beatmakers—Los Muñequitos de Matanzas, Autechre, and Fodé Seydou Bangoura,” Mok reveals. Mok will host an intimate listening party at Brooklyn’s Public Records before embarking on a tour that will see them perform in Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia, with more dates to be announced.
