Norwegian composer Anders Brørby returns with Kaiju, a new album issued exclusively in two vinyl editions via Time Released Sound. According to the press release, Borrowing its title from the Japanese term for “strange or mysterious beast,” the release situates itself conceptually between cultural spectacle and restrained sonic minimalism.

Brørby’s work is framed through a dual aesthetic lens, juxtaposing references to hyper-modern visual culture with an implied undercurrent of traditional, meditative sensibilities. The music is presented as an “artifact” rather than a conventional album object, with packaging designed to reflect this tension between surface excess and structural calm.
