Los Angeles theremin player ALIA announces her debut album Where the Echoes Bloom, out June 26 via Leaving Records. Produced at home, the record combines theremin, kacapi, synthesis, and field recordings gathered across locations, forming a layered environmental sound.
Raised around Levantine music through her father Jamal Mohamed and later influenced by Armen Ra, ALIA integrates multiple traditions into a studio-based approach. Opening track “Endless Love” develops from close vocal lines into zither textures and processed percussion, with rhythm shaped through subtle edits.
