Electronic musician Holodec — the alias of West Coast producer Jieh — releases TRU FOLK, out via Phantom Limb as a debut for the label. According to the press release, Framed as “both a folk record and an audio document,” the album reframes tradition through distant synthesis and 15 years of accumulated field recordings. Across its urban haze and domestic residue, TRU FOLK treats sound as proof of living rather than escapism, functioning as a street-level archive of shared environments and quiet survival.
