My AweSOMe Archive – 2025’s Best Albums: Luigi Zampi

Some friends of mine say that we have so much beautiful music from the past that we don’t need new music to listen to. I don’t agree because I want to be surprised by the music of the present, so every year I look for albums that excite me as I was a teenager. And I have to admit that this year this was very difficult: many releases, not so many surprising music. I fell in love only with three albums: Night Life from The Horrors is the best level of post punk at the moment; Humanhood by The Weather Station is the most delicate and elegant music you can listen to nowadays; Birthing by Swans is difficult but necessary music to feel alive in these complicated times. The rest are good albums pleasant to listen to, with some peak in Midlake’s A Bridge to Far and some very beautiful moments in the revived Pulp’s More. The search for musical wonders will continue in 2026, happy holidays.
