Yana Mann is a Russian mezzo-soprano and producer based in Dubai. She completed her
studies at the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov College of Music and graduated from the
Tchaikovsky Academic Music College at the Moscow State Conservatory. She has announced the release of the debut full-lenght Poemas de bar Op. 12. The music was written by the Brooklyn-based composer Julián De La Chica and will be released on CD and all digital platforms on May 19th 2021 via  Irreverence Group Music label.

The music explores conversations that take place in the early morning hours in a local bar and is a World Premiere of De La Chica’s Cycle Op. 12. The words are written as short poems that revolve around the themes which unite everyone, but which are only discussed in the most intimate of settings.

In Yana’s own words “These are casual conversations in a bar. And when I talk about a bar, I specifically mean a neighbourhood bar, that is, the kind of bar where you go for a drink because you’ve had a long day at work; the kind of bar where you go with your best friend to tell them about a problem; the kind of bar where, if you lose your wallet, it doesn’t matter anyways since you can pay next week“.

Check the official video of the track “Ella“. She explains: “Ella is the first opening song from the cycle Poemas de Bar op.12. It’s a story of a woman who is drinking alone in the bar. She is full of disappointments and pain, broken by life. But all the emotions have faded.”
