Sacramento producers SWIRL have taken a classic hit and turned it into their own on their latest remix for the late and great Aaliyah‘s “Rock The Boat”. Robbie Metcalf, one half of SWIRL, shares “Blue and I have been playing with different sounds as SWIRL for about a year now. We have some originals in the works, but for now we’re focused on putting out fun little remixes like this to get our name out there. The name SWIRL actually came from us booking artists for our annual #HOFDAY music festival here in Sacramento that we felt fit both hip-hop and edm demographics. We want to appeal to both those genres as well with our music, and as we started making stuff, we realized the name SWIRL also played well into him being black and me being white.” Listen to it below.
